Kingston Snooker Sport Centre Review - Snooker Hall in Sungai Petani, Kedah

Last updated: 30 September 2026

Kingston Snooker Sport Centre is a snooker hall in Kedah, located in Taman Patani Jaya, one of Sungai Petani's established residential neighbourhoods. The "Sport Centre" branding suggests a venue that positions itself as more than just a casual hangout, though the term is used loosely across Malaysian snooker halls. What matters more is the neighbourhood location: Taman Patani Jaya is a mature residential area, and a snooker venue here serves a built-in community of potential regular players.

Taman Patani Jaya Location

Taman Patani Jaya is a well-established housing estate in Sungai Petani with good road connectivity to other parts of the city. Unlike venues in commercial zones or plazas, a hall in a residential taman primarily serves the immediate neighbourhood. This creates a strong regular-player base, as locals can walk or drive a short distance for a quick session without the hassle of navigating city-centre traffic or finding parking in a busy commercial area.

The residential setting also means the atmosphere tends to be familiar and community-driven. Regular players know each other, the staff know the regulars, and there is often an informal social element that goes beyond just playing snooker. For newcomers, this can feel either welcoming or slightly cliquish, depending on the venue. Most community halls in Malaysia lean toward the welcoming side, especially for players who show genuine interest in the game.

Playing Environment

Specific information about Kingston Snooker's facilities is limited. We could not confirm the number of tables, brands, cloth type, or the overall condition of the playing area. What we can say is that neighbourhood halls in Sungai Petani typically operate at price points that reflect the local economy, which generally means more affordable rates than you would find in KL or Penang.

For players who want to understand what makes a good table, our table buying guide covers the key specifications. The same principles apply when assessing hall tables: look at the cloth condition, test the cushion response, and check that the table is properly levelled. Experienced players can tell a lot about a venue within the first few minutes of play.

Sungai Petani Options

Kingston Snooker is one of several halls serving the Sungai Petani area. Nearby alternatives include 55 Snooker Center in Lagenda Heights (recently renovated, with a phone number for enquiries at 011-5556 7255) and 31 Snooker near Kampung Baru Pulau Tiga (open 3:30 PM - 11:30 PM). Each venue has its own character, and regular players in SP often rotate between them depending on table availability and mood.

For players in Sungai Petani who want to branch out, Alor Setar is about 45 minutes north with venues like Cefiro Snooker Center and FC Snooker Center. Penang, about an hour south, offers a more developed scene. Those interested in purchasing their own cue can check our cue buying guide for advice on what to look for at different budget levels.

What We Cannot Confirm

Kingston Snooker Sport Centre has minimal online presence, and several essential details remain unverified. There is no published phone number, no website, and no confirmed operating hours or pricing. We could not determine table specifications, air conditioning status, or whether food and drinks are available. As with many neighbourhood venues in Malaysian secondary cities, visiting in person is the most reliable way to get accurate, current information.
