Pegasus Snooker Academy Review - Snooker Academy in Johor Bahru, Johor

Last updated: 30 September 2026

Pegasus Snooker Academy is a dedicated coaching and training centre located at G02-03, No 61, Jalan Harmonium 35/1, Taman Desa Tebrau in Johor Bahru. Unlike most snooker venues in Johor, Pegasus focuses on player development through structured coaching rather than casual table rental. The academy also houses the Atlantis Cue Shop, offering custom cues and specialist cue repair services -- making it a niche venue that combines training with equipment expertise.

Coaching at Pegasus Snooker Academy

The academy model sets Pegasus apart from the typical JB snooker hall. Rather than just renting table time, Pegasus offers structured coaching aimed at improving your game. For players who have hit a plateau -- maybe you can consistently make 20-30 breaks but cannot seem to push higher -- professional coaching can identify specific weaknesses in your technique that self-practice will never fix. Common issues like a crooked cue delivery, poor bridging, or inconsistent sighting are much easier to correct with someone watching your action in person.

Dedicated snooker academies are uncommon in Malaysia. Most coaching happens informally at regular halls, where the quality varies enormously. Having a venue that specifically positions itself as an academy signals a more serious commitment to player development. If you are a parent looking to develop a junior player, or an adult who wants to compete at state or national level, this kind of structured environment can accelerate improvement significantly.

Contact the academy at +60 11-1003 1818 to discuss coaching programmes, availability, and rates. If you are unsure what level you are at or what coaching should cover, our snooker rules guide covers the fundamentals that every player should have mastered before seeking advanced coaching.

Atlantis Cue Shop: Custom Cues and Repairs

Within the academy premises, the Atlantis Cue Shop offers custom cue building and specialist cue repair. Custom cues are built to your specifications -- you can choose the wood, weight, balance point, tip diameter, and joint type. This is a step beyond buying off-the-rack, and it makes sense for serious players who know exactly what they want from a cue.

The cue repair service is equally valuable. Skilled cue repair is not easy to find in Malaysia, and having a specialist who can do proper tip work, ferrule replacement, shaft straightening, and joint repairs all in one location is a genuine convenience. If your cue has taken a knock or the shaft has developed a warp, Pegasus is one of the places in JB that can handle it properly. For comparison, Neumann Snooker Penang offers similar repair depth with 20+ years of experience, and Immortal Cue Station handles repairs across its 21-branch network.

If you are considering a custom cue but want to understand the terminology and specifications first, our cue buying guide explains weight, tip size, ash vs maple, and joint styles in detail.

Taman Desa Tebrau Location

Pegasus sits in Taman Desa Tebrau, the same commercial area that houses OneCue Snooker JB -- Malaysia's largest snooker hall with 44 tables. This cluster of snooker venues makes Taman Desa Tebrau something of a hub for snooker in JB. You could visit Pegasus for coaching in the morning and then head to OneCue for practice frames in the afternoon, all within walking distance.

The area is accessible from the North-South Expressway and the Senai-Desaru Expressway. Parking is generally available in the commercial area. For Singaporean day-trippers crossing the Causeway, Taman Desa Tebrau is roughly 15-20 minutes from the customs checkpoint, depending on traffic.

What to Be Aware Of

Pegasus Snooker Academy is a small operation. Online reviews are limited, and there is no publicly listed schedule of operating hours. The academy's exact current status should be verified before visiting -- small specialist operations in Malaysia can change their schedules or availability without much online notice. Always call +60 11-1003 1818 before making a trip.

The venue is best understood as a specialist rather than a general-purpose snooker hall. If you are looking for casual play, cheap table time, or a social group outing, Century Snooker (RM10/hr off-peak) or OneCue Snooker JB would serve you better. Pegasus is for players who want coaching, custom equipment, or specialist repairs.

Who Should Visit Pegasus Snooker Academy

Players who are serious about improving through structured coaching are the primary audience. Cue customisation enthusiasts who want a bespoke stick built to their specifications will appreciate the Atlantis Cue Shop. Anyone with a damaged cue -- especially a premium or sentimental one -- should consider the specialist repair services. This is a niche venue for players who have moved beyond casual play and want to invest in their development and equipment. For broader options in the state, see our full Johor snooker directory.
