King Snooker and Billiard Centre Review - Kota Kinabalu, Sabah

Last updated: 30 September 2026

King Snooker and Billiard Centre is a cue sports venue located at Alam Mesra Plaza Utama on Jalan Sulaman in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. The dual "Snooker and Billiard" branding indicates this venue caters to both disciplines, giving players the option to choose between full-size snooker tables and billiard or pool tables depending on their preference.

Jalan Sulaman Location

Jalan Sulaman is a major road running through the northern part of greater Kota Kinabalu, connecting the city centre with developing residential and commercial areas. The Alam Mesra Plaza Utama location puts King Snooker in a suburban commercial setting that serves the growing population in KK's northern corridor. While this is not as central as some other KK venues, the trade-off is typically easier parking and a less congested environment.

The 88450 postcode places the venue in the Sepanggar area, which has seen significant development in recent years. For players living in the northern suburbs of KK, including Sepanggar, Likas, and surrounding areas, King Snooker is a conveniently located option that does not require driving into the city centre.

Snooker and Billiard: Dual Offering

Having both snooker and billiard tables under one roof is a practical approach for a Malaysian cue sports venue. Not every player wants to commit to a full-size 12-foot snooker table, and having smaller pool or billiard tables available makes the venue accessible to casual groups, families, and players who prefer the faster pace of pool. This dual approach also tends to attract a broader customer base, which helps sustain the business.

The "Billiard" in the name could refer to English billiards (played on a full-size snooker table with three balls), American pool, or both. In the Malaysian context, it most commonly means the venue offers American-style pool tables alongside snooker tables, as English billiards is less commonly played in commercial halls.

Contact Information

King Snooker is one of the few venues in KK's outer suburbs that provides a phone number, which is a practical advantage for visiting players. You can call 013-874 6111 to confirm operating hours, pricing, table availability, and whether reservations are possible. We always recommend calling ahead, especially on weekends and public holidays when halls can get busy.

The mobile number format (013-) indicates this is likely the owner's or manager's personal number, which is common for independently operated snooker halls in East Malaysia. This means you may get a more personal and responsive service compared to calling a corporate switchboard.

Honest Assessment

King Snooker operates in a competitive KK market alongside several well-established venues. Sheffield Snooker in Inanam is the benchmark for serious players with its SSBA-sanctioned events and steel block tables. J Pool in Luyang offers a one-stop experience with a cafe and darts. Star Cuesports at Metro Town spans four units in a modern complex.

King Snooker's advantage is its northern KK location, which serves a growing suburban population that might otherwise need to drive 20-30 minutes to reach the other venues. For players in the Jalan Sulaman corridor, proximity and convenience are genuine selling points. The availability of a phone number for enquiries is also a practical plus.
